The customs number is required for all companies, regardless of their business structure, if you:
- Import or export goods outside of the European Union
- Deal with customs clearance
- Want to obtain customs authorization to receive goods or production components from third countries
- Plan to open a transport company in Europe
- Process transit through the EU
If you intend to engage in any of the activities listed above within the European Union, you need an EORI number.
It can be obtained by any registered company from the EU zone, as well as outside it.
Companies need an EORI number if they intend to export or import goods to/from countries outside the European Union to the EU.
